Choosing the adoption professionals who will accompany you on your adoption journey, both pre-adoption (whether you're placing a child or hoping to adopt) and post-adoption is one of the most important decisions you will make.

Pre-Adoption

Both adopting and placing parents need to know enough about the adoption process before committing to a particular agency or professional to be able to understand if something they hear doesn't sound quite right. The saddest stories told in connection to adoption are those by people who believed everything they heard without doing any checking of their own.

Post-Adoption

Adoption professionals stay in our lives as we grow with our families. Adoption counselors help us and our children and families handle challenges that may come our way; educators continue to expand our knowledge and understanding of ourselves and this new family structure we have created; and many of us choose to join support groups led by experts at the agency where we made our adoption plans.
